In the words of Funke Treasure, Author of Memories of Grandma:

“The author’s use of language, imagery and dialogic is apt and suggestive of someone with a fertile imagination. She explores the nuances of teenage life captivatingly with its attendant rivalry, petty jealousy, mischief, emotion, friendships, parties and junk food.  Stephanie Oyinki parallels Stephen King in her portrayal of horror, she is thus one emerging writer who holds a lot of promise. Her debut effort Bloodstone is worth reading.”

A Prologue of the author of Driven by Passion at the book launch

At the Driven by Passion book launchI was invited to prologue the author of the book, Driven By Passion,  Ada Okafor at the book launch which was held in the popular Dover Hotel in Lekki Phase I, on August 3, 2013.

Driven By passion is a collection of inspirational words about life. These were from her personal life experiences, which she turned into lessons of motivation to inspire people positively at every point in their lives. She derived the name of this book out of her passion to positively impact on humanity.

The author of Driven By Passion, Ada Okafor, is a rare breed. I say this with all conviction because; not very many of us can summon courage and generosity to publicly share our private and personal life experiences, especially women whom for some reasons are very sensitive.

Ada has strong desire to always challenge herself and work towards self-improvement. She never ceases to be inspired by her faith in God, accepting whatever comes her way in good faith, hoping that better days are coming.

During her National Youth Corp (NYSC), Ada exhibited her philanthropic and humanitarian inclinations by singly developed and delivered an HIV/AIDs ‘Living Passion’ Project for secondary school students, and for the Down syndrome association.

Her passion is to understand the uniqueness of every human being that she encounters in life, relating to them in their own peculiarities and making the best out of them.

Let me not close without mentioning that Ada is currently rounding up her Master's degree programme in Management at the University of Lagos. She earlier bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Ghana Business School, Accra, Ghana.

Give me the pleasure to welcome to the stage, this great and inspiring personality, Miss Ada Okafor.

At the Eribo's Birthday and Wedding Anniversary celebration

The Eribo’s on Saturday, 6 October, 2012 had their 40th Birthday and 10th wedding anniversary celebrations at the luxurious Lagos Oriental Hotel, Lekki. The event which was a black tie event for gents and evening dress for ladies attracted colleagues, friends and well-wishers.

As part of the programme of the day, it was my privilege to read a brief background history about the author of the famous hymn Amazing Grace before inviting the couple to the floor.

Her suspicion led to Gregory Jayden – a new boy in school. His mysterious ways were too rich (obvious) to miss. Thalia Throne’s summer plan is to work part time at her aunt’s diner- a famous hangout for teenagers like herself, and also have a touch of fun. All this seemed possible when her long lost best friend, Sophie, returned from Scotland. Her summer didn’t go as planned as she came face to face with real troll who tried to kidnap her, but is rescued by Mike who claims that Thalia and his destiny are connected and that Thalia is the key to bring back the dark one to the mortal world. The dark one finds a way to enter the mortal world. It is up to Thalia, Mick and Sophie to protect the world from these dark times.

Series Three:
Wingless

Iris, the youngest daughter of the king of Pixies had been banished for unconsciously leading Mort, the king’s step brother into the chamber of the heart of the pixie realm, who steals it. He promises to help get back home to her sisters and realm.

When she and her mum moved to Britain for a change of environment, Valarie knew she was to start all over again with new friends, a new school and new pathway. At school she meets the strangest group she had ever seen, James, Fred and Dawn. She found out that they were no ordinary teens neither was she herself. Magic and sorcery was introduced into her life. Her path was to choice between the mutants and the world of magic but before the time James, Fred and Dawn trained her for what was to come. At the end she had to choose.
